I am seeking a companion, a friend, and a confidante. I want someone to spend time doing new (and old) things together. Can be complicated such as planning a world trip or simple like shopping at the Mall. I am looking for friendship, good times, and an intimate long-term relationship.
I've been married 3 times and have made a few bad choices, but... don't you think some of life's best stories start out with a bad decision? I've been divorced since 2004 and have been living alone. I have to say I'm not liking it (and having 2 cats is not doing it for me).
I have had businesses of my own, but I am now retired from a major telecom company in Tampa. I still have an interest in 2 small businesses in John's Pass in Madeira Beach and spend several days a week there.
I am an old New England boy, born and reared, and I have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren that are still living there. I have been in Florida for over 20 years and never regretted moving here. Winter was an issue for me. The cold never bothered me, but moving piles of snow from one place to another became tedious and tiresome. My children still send me pictures of their snow and I send pictures of the beach (and then we don't talk to each other for a month).
While I do have a few health issues, they are manageable and a little nagging helps keep me under control.
I love to find new and out-of-the-way places to have fun; be it antiquing or window shopping the latest technology. I think I might be a little ADD because so many things interest me and so few keep my undivided attention. I am still on my life's journey... No telling where it's gonna go.
I'm not artistic, but I enjoy and appreciate art. I am not a religious person, but I am somewhat spiritual in that I believe there must be SOMETHING that's driving all of this and us.
I am not a fan of sports on TV, but love to go to an occasional game (yeah... since I was born and reared in Massachusetts, I'm a Red Sox Fan - I think it's State Law).
I'm a handy guy; I've rehabbed old houses ranging from contemporary style to Revolutionary War colonials and a few in between. I like fixing and tinkering with things and have a garage full of debris to show for it. I have a fondness for antiques and old things and enjoy learning about their history.
My taste in music is eclectic so there's not much I won't listen to. I will, however, only tolerate heavy metal, headbanging, and C&W for a little while.
Not a fan of bars or clubs, but do like places like Frenchy's, the Palm Pavillion, Guppy's on the Beach, Blue Fugu, E&E Steakout, and The Maritana Grille (to name a few).
As for politics, I suppose I am somewhat left of center. I cannot abide extremes on either side, but I've discovered that the older I get, the more liberal I have become.
